About to go back on track

June 12, 2009 · Leave a Comment

After a lot of diversions we should get back on track with Art Thing.  Workload over the past year has been crazy, but now with a bit of breathing space we have had time to finnish our diversionary project - http://www.blinks.org.uk – our new  online business directory

Blinks is bulit on the fabulous CakePHP framework, and is a bit of a testbed for all kinds of bits and pieces particularly relating to areas like Caching to speed up responsiveness. This is particularly important right now while the application is being tested and it is sitting on a fairly low spec shared server.

Blinks.org.uk is now live!

And we are looking for businesses and services based in the UK to sign up and give it a whirl. The site is still in Beta at the moment while we find bugs and make tweaks but if you sign up now your listing will always be top of the list in your category. The business directory could be of interest to web designers and people interested in SEO as you can mange multiple businesses from a single account.

I can’t wait to get on with some art.

Project migrated to CakePHP 1.2

January 30, 2008 · Leave a Comment

In the last week we have moved development of the site onto the CakePHP 1.2 framework -  CakePHP is a MVC (Model View Controller) based application development framework written in the popular PHP programming language.

Since the move we are now beginning to make significant progress again and you should expect to see something soon.

(Exciting times!)
